Today we will continue our ‘End of the Year’ countdown, highlighting the most viewed player profiles in Wisconsin from this year. We’ll be working our way to the top spot, starting with No. 10 and releasing the most viewed name on New Year’s Eve.

Coming in at No. 3 in our ‘Most Viewed Profiles’ list is RHP Nate Snead (South Milwaukee, 2022; Wichita State). It is not surprising to see Snead towards the top of this list, not only because he possesses a fastball in the mid-to-high 90s but also earlier this year he re-opened his recruitment which generated buzz from a number of schools.

Snead wasn’t always the fireball throwing righty that he is now but in our first look at him in 2021 at the Milwaukee Preseason ID, the strides he made developmentally were off the charts. There Snead reared back and turned in a 93 mph fastball to end his ‘pen, which was roughly 10 mph harder than our previous look at him in 2020. After this eye opening performance at The MOSH, Snead jumped inside our class of 2022 rankings list at No. 12 and across a handful of looks after, he continued to impress our staff.

In Feburary of 2022, Snead was in attendance at the PBR Midwest Procase and there he had one of the days top performances from a statistical standpoint. While Snead’s talents profile best on the mound, he did two-way at this event and showed off his advanced athleticism. He registered one of the fastest 60s of the day at 6.56 and his arm strength was also on display during the outfield portion of the event as he topped at 101 mph on his hardest bullet home. Snead really caught eyes when he hopped up on the mound and showcased his three-pitch arsenal, led by 95-97 mph fastballs in and around the zone. His performance there helped him rise up our rankings yet again and he finished his prep career at No. 6 in the state and No. 275 nationally.

During his senior year, Snead also decided to re-open his recruitment and was arguably the top uncommitted talent in the Midwest. That was until the middle of July when he announced his commitment to Wichita State. Now as a freshman in Wichita, Snead is off and running and has seemingly not missed a beat since his high school days. It is very impressive the strides Snead made throughout his prep career and he truly blossomed into a true top-talent in the state's talented 2022 class.
