Wisconsin Staff

Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Wisconsin Player of the Week honors. On Wednesday, we awarded the second 'Players of the Week' awards of the year, representing Week 8, to C Hunter Carlson (Hudson, 2024), who went 10-for-12 on the week with four doubles, a triple and a home run collecting eight RBI’s on the week, earning this week’s ‘Player of the Week’ honors, as a result. RHP Nathan Vela (Hortonville, 2023; Winona State commit) earned ‘Pitcher of the Week’ honors after he twirled a no-hitter against Appleton North, one of the top teams in the Fox Valley Association in 2023.

Inside of this Diamond Notes piece, we acknowledge the performances that fell short of that POTW honor, but are still deserving of some recognition here.
