Tall, lean, long levered athlete. Square shouldered with long upper torso. Starts in the middle of rubber on his delivery. Slight side step with a slow deliberate mode of his delivery tempo. Mid chest hand pump that separates to an H ¾ arm slot. Has a slight sit on back leg drive, as he takes ball back deep to well. Generates good arm speed to front side finish that shows good extension. Small over rotation to body on finish, as arm slot continues through delivery to finish. FB has run in the zone, complimented by a slurvey action curveball and straight change with accuracy. Has high front side glove that hides ball well behind his body, tough on hitters to pick up arm slot. Gavin, as he understands and matures with his body and delivery, needs to improve his head dive in delivery and pick up target earlier. He will achieve this once he understands tempo, body, stride and coordination to his athletic skills. Good upside on mound. FB 84-85, CB 75-77, CH 79-80.
