Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body Type: 5-foot-6, 120 pounds. Smaller, compact build. Swing Mechanics: Shorter stride out of a medium width stance. Hands start farther away from his body prior to getting loaded. Produces a slight uphill bat path. Improving lower half ability through rotation.
Hit: Showed average contact during his round with line drives being the end result multiple times. Will get more productivity as gets stronger and utilizes legs more efficiently.
Power: 73 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: TBD as he continues to grow.
Run: 8.4 60-yard. Field: Presented nice glove action with his hands fielding it. Does well staying low throughout the process. Footwork is average and progressing.
Throw: 67 mph across the diamond. Defensive Projection: Second base for now but few years to determine.
2/10/19 Pitching
Body Type: Still young. Only 5-foot-6, 120-pounds. Physical development will occur over the next couple of years and have the opportunity to impact his game. Needs added strength at this stage.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Slow, mechanical delivery. Limited by lower body strength. Long arm action through ¾ to high ¾ slot.
Fastball: Mostly 61-63 mph, up to 66 mph. Mostly straight without much movement.
Curveball: Big, loopy shape at 51-52 mph. Located in the zone. Will be aided by maintaining arm speed.
Changeup: Slows arm down. Mostly straight. Sat at 58-59 mph.
Summary: Projects as a middle infielder at this stage. Still early in his high school career. To pitch at the next level, he will need increased physical strength and development as well as a consistent secondary offering.
