A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

5-foot-11, 150-pound athletic lean build. Solid during batting practice, Reilly had an exit velocity of 81 mph. (58.45 mph bat speed average). (19.36 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a small leg kick stride. Bat speed was above average, displayed a short upward swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 74 mph; has fluid quick feet, a natural exchange, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.09. Raw on the mound, showing good arm speed he had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows some effort. Displays falling off shoulders with a strong balance point. Lands square with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 69-71 mph; has tailing action and arm side control. (Max spin 2058; Avg 1898). Threw a 11/5 curveball (57-60) with tilt and glove side command. (Max spin 2063; Avg 1908). Showed fading action and consistent control on his changeup (65-66).
Exit Velocity: 81 mph
Arm Velocity: 74 mph
Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.09
10/14/20
5-foot-10, 173-pound, average athletic, broad shoulders, wider back, already filling out, chance to be physical at some point. A left-handed pitcher, working from the set position. A higher hand set, quick, small leg lift, with some forward lean. A shorter stride, slight spin off, could get out longer, with a stronger front arm, easy fix with reps. The arm action is clean, working out of a natural circle, comes through from a 3/4 to higher slot. The fastball was clocked at 68 mph, located to glove side. Added arm strength with a regimented throwing program will aid in a jump in velocity. The breaking ball is more top to bottom, clocked at 58 mph, spin and shape were correct, more fastball hand speed will need to be added. The frame is strong and athletic.
