2025 PREP BASEBALL ALL-AMERICAN GAME

September in South Beach is the site of the nation’s top amateur baseball game again.

After a successful 2024 edition, the Prep Baseball All-American Game is set to return to Miami in 2025. The third annual event is headed back to loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, with the country’s top high school juniors and seniors facing off in the premier scouting showcases across amateur baseball. The game itself will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, while the workout will be held the day prior, on Sept. 19.

A new champion is guaranteed this year as the Class of 2025, which took home the win in both the inaugural game and last year’s contest in Miami, will be off to college by then. With that, the stage is set for a fresh challenge, as these rising stars look to make their mark in this unique and highly anticipated showcase.

        2023 PREP BASEBALL AAG RECAP

        MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

Josh Hammond SS / RHP / Wesleyan Christian Academy, NC / 2025

Physical 6-foot-1 frame with a certified hand cannon on the mound, Hammond showcases huge arm speed out of a tight arm circle. Utilizing a low, three-quarters slot while getting deep into his lower half with big extension, Hammond is able to produce five-foot release heights or under on the entire pitch mix creating tough angles. Fastball sits a heavy 92-95 while getting consistent hard arm-side run and showing an innate ability to spin (2,481 rpm avg.). Slider can be a plus pitch sooner than later. 82-85 with ability to add and subtract sharp sweep at will, Hammond also shows supreme command and plus spin that allow the pitch to play up even more. Creates ugly swing-and-miss in any count. Changeup is firm in the mid-80s with present feel and ability to get great arm-side fade that can be devastating from the arm slot. With the stick, Hammonds quiet approach and above-average bat speed allow the barrel to explode through the zone for big pop that continues to play well in-game and in BP.

He launched an RBI double late in the game for the underclassmen at the inaugural All-American Game and pitched a lights-out fifth frame which combined to earn him the MVP award at the inaugural event.
