Matthew Shorey
LHPMatthew Shorey(Father Ryan, 2024) is an uncommitted LHP that is fun to watch and worth a follow. Tall, lean build at 6 foot 2, 160-pounds that has plenty of opportunity to add muscle to his frame as he matures and progresses in a weight training program. He attacked hitters all night and was consistently getting ahead into good pitcher counts. He gave up a few hits during his outing but mostly off of soft contact and balls finding holes through the infield as he didn’t give up one pure barreled base hit all game. He worked mostly in the 85-86 MPH (T88) range with his fastball to both sides of the plate with good sinking run, while mixing in a curveball in the low70’s to go along with a slider to lefties in the mid 70’s that presented late sweeping action that ate hitters up all game.
