PBR SPOTLIGHT VIDEO

Zachary Gingrich

One of the best 2 way performances on the day belonged to Gingrich. The Smithson Valley Jr. started his day off by running a 6.83 60, showing good athleticism. He was 86 from the OF as well showing an accurate arm with good carry. Offensively, Gingrich had a good round of BP. The LHH had a max exit velocity of 97.3 and drove a couple balls out of the park. There isn’t a lot of wasted movement in the box. Starts with a slight leg kick as he loads his hands and then has a short powerful swing that will lead to a lot of extra base hits. On the mound, Gingrich showed the ability to be a two way guy. His fastball Sat 85-88.1 and his last three were his three fastest pitches. He filled the zone up with it, and had good riding life up in the zone, and showed some ASR when he kept it at the bottom. He also threw a curveball that had a slurve shape to it in the low 70’s velo range. He showed feel for a changeup as well that was thrown in the mid to upper 70’s. Gingrich does a lot of things well on the field, and I expect a big year from him.
