Excellent pitcher’s frame with projection for strength gains. Delivery is clean, arm action works. Fastball 92–94 with carry at the top of the zone and tailing life to arm side. Slider 79–81 shows average action with ability to manipulate shape — tight downer with occasional hard CB look. Changeup features tail/sink and shows comfort using it to both sides. Continues trending upward. High Follow Prospect for 2027.
Ranked as the No. 7 player in Texas for the 2027 class, RHP George Ferguson (Abilene, 2027) delivered an outstanding bullpen session that showcased his impressive strike-throwing ability. Standing 6’3” as a sophomore, he features a three-pitch mix headlined by a fastball topping out at 91 mph, a tight slider at 76–77 mph, and a changeup at 80–81 mph. Despite his size and youth, Ferguson displays an efficient, repeatable arm stroke, allowing him to pound the zone with all three offerings. With a starter’s profile and the potential for more velocity, he’s clearly another exciting West Texas arm to keep on the radar this spring.

Positional Profile: RHP/3B RHS…Good build/frame, will add strength in future. Repeats delivery, will fine tune as he continues to get innings. Occasionally, front side gets quick…not a big issue. Arm works well, arm speed present and will continue to develop. OH slot, creates good down plane with carry up to FB. Project plus FB in future with carry, arm side life and down plane. SL/CB both project to be solid pitches with K/out pitch potential. Developing feel for change. Definite prospect, will be fun to watch him develop and mature. RHH/INF Will add strength in future. Run time will improve as he adds strength and matures physically. Moves fine. Will be nice defense player with ability to be steady defender on the corner. Pitching is his primary position. Nice to see the he has some athleticism.
Body: 6-3, 216-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength in future. Projects very well.
Delivery: Side step rocker, nice job of loading in back leg. Online stride, good finish. Slight head pull. Occasionally gets quick with front side.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle works well with arm speed present, expect arm speed to continue to increase with strength and physical maturity. OH slot.
FB: T91, 89-91 mph. Carry up, arm side tail, when down has good plane. T2127, 2034 average rpm.
CB: 76-76 mph. Solid spin, shows tilt with depth. Quality pitch. T2311, 2311 average rpm.
SL: 76-77 mph. Quality action, downer type, good finish. Swing and miss/out pitch potential. T2411, 2306 average rpm.
CH: 80-82 mph. Tail/sink. Good job of maintaining arm speed. T1857, 1752 average rpm.
CUT: 91-91 mph.
ATH: 7.44 runner in the 60. 1.67 and 4.07 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs hard. 16.60 max vertical.
Hit: RHH
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph. Arm works well, carry present to throws.
Defense: Nice 1st step, feet work well getting body into position to field. Dead feet fielding baseball, can improve playing thru baseball with feet. Hands fine, can improve fielding ball out front, fields deep presently.
