A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 183-pound, larger athletic frame. A right-handed hitter, taller balanced stance. The lower half is controlled, small leg kick. The swing is loose, level to upward, more of pull approach. Showed solid, hard contact in batting practice, had an exit velocity of 86 mph. Defensively, moves very well off the bag at first base, glove is soft, hands and feet work well together. The arm action is loose, long and clean. Clocked at 79 mph, good carry. Off the mound, works from a hybrid start, lift is athletic, good extension, back foot grounded through release. The arm action is long and loose, working from a higher ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 77 mph, with a ton more in there. Mixed in a slurvy breaking ball at 69 mph and showed good feel for the changeup at 73 mph. Look for a jump off the mound.

(Max spin 1969; Avg 1837). Throws a 1/7 curveball (62-63) that has slurvey action and glove side command. (Max spin 2064; Avg 1952). Has arm side control and fading action on his changeup (67-69).
