5-foot-8, 165-pound, strong, thick, fast twitch athlete, with an athletic frame. The hands and wrists have well above average strength to them. One of the better hitters at this event. A right-handed hitter, the stance is balanced throughout, feet are even, shoulder width apart. The hands are loose, held at shoulder height, bat starts is a good tilted position. For timing, hands get back, has a small controlled leg lift, gains ground with the stride foot. The swing is down to level to up, creates lift and length, with the baseball jumping off the bat. The entire body is used well, looks to drive the ball from both gaps. Is a legitimate doubles hitter at the next level. In game swings were good, collected multiple hits including a deep double to left center. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 89 mph, and runs ok at 4.47 down the line. Defensively, had a pop time of 1.97-2.06 and the arm was clocked at 77 mph. The setup is super athletic and flexible to the ground. The hands are soft, receives the low pitch extremely well. Transfers the baseball with ease, has a spring/bounce coming out of the squat position. The arm action is super short throws from his ear, throws are downhill and on the bag. Big time follow, will be very good for someone.

5-foot-8, 165 pounds, Malcolm is a shorter catching prospect but is lean and athletic, good quick twitch movements. He has quick feet behind the plate getting his whole body into the throw. Put ball on the bag, including throws from his knees. His pop times were 1.94-2.07, with arm being clocked at 73 mph. Should continue honing in on transfer from glove to throwing hand. Good receiver. As a hitter, Malcolm makes the most of his physical profile. A short, compact swing, Malcolm loads early with a short stride into the pitch. His tee exit velocity was 86 mph. Needs to watch out for times when he gets too much weight to the lead leg. Made hard contact during BP. More of a singles, doubles hitter but showed decent pop in the bat and the ability to beat the outfielders to the pullside.

5-foot-8, 160-pound, smaller athletic frame, hands and forearms are strong. A right-handed hitter who came on very strong during the HS season, was a key contributor in the East Lyme State Championship, can really swing the bat. The stance is balanced and even, hands are set just off the shoulder. The lower half is under control uses a minimal stride, the path is level throughout, is balanced and is in a good position when making contact. He could keep the hands inside it a bit more and watch for barring out too soon. The tee exit velocity was 80 mph, with a ton more in there, finishes with two hands, watch rolling it over too quick. Runs well at 4.5 down the line, plays the game quicker than that. Defensively, the setup behind the plate is low and shows to be flexible. The feet and transfer are quick with not much wasted movement. The arm action is short, pop times to second were 1.97-2.0 and were on the bag. The arm was clocked at 76 mph from the crouch. From the OF, footwork is good, quick feet as well, with a clean transfer. The arm works out of a ¾ slot and was clocked at 78 mph, with more in there as he gets stronger and matures. Projects for me as catcher who can swing the bat, with the ability to play the OF. High follow, will be out to see him early and often.
