6/20/17

6-foot, 160-pound, super athletic wiry strong athlete. The frame has some length to it, has room to fill out and get stronger. A toolsy type player, his legs and his arm are above average tools. Ran a 4.28 down the line from home to first, has a good athletic stride and kick. At the plate, has a balanced setup, bat angle starts in more of a flat position. Swing is level through the zone, needs to get hands back sooner, and stay through it a tick longer. Shows good bat speed and strength, tee exit velocity was clocked at 79 mph, with a ton more in there, collected a couple of singles on the day in game play. The approach is more to the pull side. Defensively, the arm plays well in the outfield, has plenty of carry and length to it clocked at 80 mph, with more in there. The arm action is long and clean on the backside, arm works out of a high ¾ slot. The routes and angles are very good, made a very good catch in game play. Good follow, better days ahead, need to see him.

Home - First: 4.28

Exit Velocity: 79 mph

Arm Velocity: 80 mph

3/7/17

5-foot-11, 160-pound, super athletic frame, arms are long, has plenty of room to fill out. A toolsy type player, turned into one of the better performances at this event, runs, throws and has juice in his hands. Ran a 6.9 sixty-yard dash, the stride is long with a good kick.  A right-handed hitter, hands loose, feet are even, shoulder width apart. The bat starts in a flat position just above his shoulder. The lower half is under control, has a minimal leg kick, gains ground with the stride, back side gets involved. The swing is down to level to up, stays through it well. The hands could stay inside it slightly more, easy fix with reps and practice. The approach is gap to gap with action to the pull side. Defensively, throws the baseball extremely well from the outfield, arm was clocked at 83 mph, comes out of a higher slot, throws are downhill with very good carry to them. The feet are extremely quick, steps through hard, showed solid routes and was under control when attacking the baseball. Super athletic, ability is raw, game is going to jump as he gets more experience solid follow.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.9

Exit Velocity: 84-mph

Arm Velocity: 83 mph

2/14/16
5-foot-11, 150-pound thin athlete, projectable body frame. Offensively, he hits from the right side, stance is even, balanced and shoulder width apart. Hands held at shoulder height and are loose free. For timing he uses a minimal stride, hands could get back more with more separation. The lower half is under control. The path is level through the zone with some whip to it, showed a good line drive swing, made solid contact in both rounds with a tee exit velocity of 77 mph. Defensively, he moves real well in the outfield, attacks ball, fields out front and off proper foot. The arm action is smooth, clean, easy, has a little length to it and he was clocked at 75 mph. The stride could get slightly longer, would throw downhill a bit more. Ran an easy 7.06 60-yard dash, good stride and kick, good looking athlete.
12/12/15
At 5-foot-10, 140-pounds, this right-handed hitting outfielder, has an athletic frame, which has room to add tons of weight.  At the plate, he hits with an even and balanced stance, bat is flat on the shoulders. The stride, he picks up the foot up and puts it back down. The path is level through the zone, has a two-handed finish, at times gets the ball out front, needs to let it travel a little more, natural habit of a young hitter. The swing gets a little pull happy. The hands are very loose, has pop and strength in them. The tee exit velocity was 77 mph and ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. In the outfield, he had an arm strength of 77 mph, had plus carry and real good flight to the ball. The prep steps and transfer were well above average. Has the athletic ability to take off, needs to make a few adjustments at the dish, but very easy fixes. Definite follow for me.
