6-foot, 175-pound, average athletic frame, longer neck, squared off shoulder, room for added weight. A right-handed hitting catcher, at the plate, even feet, lower hands. The lower half is simple small pick up and put down, hands stay back on stride. The swing is level through the zone, a flat path, approach is more middle to pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 72 mph and 7.75 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, athletic setup behind the plate, feet are quick in transfer, had a pop time of 2.27-2.38. The arm action is clean, working from a natural slot, clocked at 69 mph. Slight recoil could finish it more on the backend. Added strength will aid in his development.
Tee Exit Velocity: 72 mph
Arm Velocity: 69 mph
Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.75
2/20/19
6-foot-2, 170-pound, long, lean, lengthy athletic frame, shoulders squared off, plenty room for added weight. A right-handed hitting catcher/outfielder. At the plate, stance is wider, slightly closed off, sits on the backside. The lower half needs to be controlled a tick more, quick kick into the stride, with bag foot maneuvering around. The swing is level through the zone, gets extension out front, middle approach with a tee exit of 74 mph. Defensively, threw 70 mph from the outfield, arm action is whippy from a ¾ slot, baseball comes out of his hand well. Fields out front, clean quick steps in transfer. Behind the plate, pop time of 2.22-2.40, arm was clocked at 66 mph, from a higher slot. The setup is wider, glove hand could relax a bit more on the catch. The footwork could shorten, gains ground, will help in lowering pop time. Projects for me as more of an outfielder, runs well at 4.31 down the line.
