Begins in a balanced quiet stance with a small load, then uses a short stride to initiate his swing. Had quick bat speed and simple swing plane. Gap to gap approach. Mcclurg's 92 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. From the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 81 mph; shows average footwork and a lengthy exchange. Occasional accuracy to the bases, used an-over-the-top slot and a long arm action. On the mound, had an over-the-top arm angle with a long arm action. Used some effort in his delivery. Sat with his fastball at 78-81 mph and topped out at 82 mph; has a control low in the zone that shows straight movement. Shows a 12/6 curveball (65-66) with gradual action.
