Jack Cali: SS/RHP, (2024) out of Taunton, MA. is a 5-foot-8, 162-pound two-way prospect. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 84 MPH, with a (63.52 mph bat speed average) and (22.40 mph hand speed average). Cali starts in a tall, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A pushing back of the hands and a small toe tap initiate a swing that takes an uphill path through his finish. In the infield, Cali was 68 MPH on his throws across the diamond. As he worked through the ground balls, he showed he had consistent, smooth footwork, a clean exchange, and soft hands. During the event, he also recorded a 60 time of 7.63. On the mound, Cali showed a quick, high ¾ arm slot and an easy, simple delivery. He had a consistent balance point, was able to keep the shoulders in line, landing square with a clean finish. His fastball came in at 78-79 MPH with some late arm side run. He showed a sweeping curveball (65-66 MPH) and a changeup (66-67 MPH) with late fading action.
5-foot-7 145, pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher. He ran a 8.0 sixty at the event. The approach in the infield can be smoothed out with active feet through the fielding of the baseball. The glove works and he threw 76 mph across the diamond at the workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 79 mph. The setup is wide in base and the front foot steps into the swing as the ball approaches. The bat has a small amount or wrap to start. The hands work free and clean to the ball. On the mound, the fastball sat 73-74 mph. The spin pitch is 61-62 mph and big in shape. The changeup was 66-67 mph with minimal fade to it. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is slightly above 3/4 in height. The lift is solid in tempo and he needs to track better with the front shoulder as he makes his way into foot strike. The release has recoil to it.
