6-foot-2, 250-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. The bat has plus juice in it. He ran a 8.19 sixty at the event. The feel around the bag at first is solid and he shows well with the glove. He threw 67 mph across the diamond during the infield portion of the workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 100 mph. The setup is semi wide and he uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is clean and powerful to contact. He punishes the baseball when he squares it up. Good offensive threat.

LaMalva is a physical 6-foot-1, 250 pound prospect. The left-handed hitting first baseman had our highest exit velocity of the night at 94 mph off the tee. He hits out of a wide, square base, with the hands set low off the back shoulder. The load is a simple shift of the weight to the back leg and a raising of the hands to a strong launch position. The swing itself creates lift through the hitting zone and produces hard, loud contact. His finish remains on plane well through contact.
Defensively, he was 73 mph across the diamond. The first baseman uses light feet to glide into a balanced fielding position. The glove is relaxed out in front. As he transitions through the ground ball, he shows his soft hands. The feet get the hips and shoulders in line with the throwing target. He finishes well through the play showing a quick arm-circle.

The 6-foot-1, 245 pound left-handed hitting first baseman/outfielder is physical presence in the box. The stance is wide open, with the hands sitting low. As he moves into the launch position, he gets into a strong position to hit. The bat head then takes a powerful and direct path through contact. He was able to show some serious pop to the pull side and center of the field. He also had the highest tee exit velocity at 90 mph.
In the outfield, he moves well and transitions into a good throwing position. The arm was 71 mph to home plate. He also ran a 7.5sec 60.
In the infield, he moves well laterally and was able to get into good fielding positions. The arm was clean and was 73 mph across the infield.
I think he has a chance to be a serious prospect with the hit tool. He showed the ability to drive the ball center to the pull side.
