He uses a simple load to get into the launch position before taking the bat on a flat path through the hitting zone. He registered an exit velocity of 77 MPH during his round, with a lot of solid contact.
In the outfield, he was 83 MPH on his throws. His feet are light working to get into the fielding position. His exchange is clean and uses a long arm-swing to make his throws. He finishes against his front leg, creating an uphill trajectory.
In the infield, Nichols was 82 MPH on his throws across the diamond. His footwork is athletic and showed soft hands working through the ground balls. He moves well laterally, using a longer arm-swing to work the ball across the infield. He finishes through the play and stays in line with his target.
