He hits out of a wide, open stance with relaxed hands. He uses a line drive approach. Taking a flat, direct path to and through contact. While in the infield, Volpe was up to 80 MPH on his throws across the diamond. He uses a short arm slot, showed sure hands, rhythmic footwork, and a clean exchange. He also clocked a time of 7.44 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, Volpe uses a simple, controlled delivery to work down the mound.
