5-foot-11, 212 pounds, thick and durable. Already filling out physically with a catcher’s build, strength on the frame. Slight shoulder slope. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. His top defensive skill behind the plate is as a receiver. Strong hands and feel as a battery mate for pitchers. His pop times ranged between 2.13-2.22 which can be improved over the following high school seasons as he refines his craft and improves arm strength. Throws from the ear from a high ¾ slot. Throws clocked up to 73 MPH out of the chute. At the plate, Berube sets up even in the box with a slight knee bend and wide base. The hands work up by the shoulders, slightly rocks back before progressing into small leg kick during swing. Present gap power with potential for more down the road if everything comes together. His tee exit velocity was clocked at 83 MPH. As a right-handed pitcher, Berube works a three pitch mix. The glove is inline and the release is from a high ¾ slot that stayed consistent across all of his pitches. At times, opens up early in delivery with the arm lagging behind the rest of his body. The breaking ball was clocked at 60-61 MPH, bigger 11/5 break to it. Looks to slow down on it, needs to continue arm speed through release. Long-term, catcher is likely his best position. Berube has shown improvement since his last showcase on both sides of the ball and in measurables.

5-foot-9, 170-pound, strong, thick athletic frame. The hands, wrists and lower body have strength to them. Defensively, showed extremely well for his age. The stance is balanced even and hands are relaxed and strong when receiving pitches. The feet are quick, get inline to target, gains ground with them, has some bounce and pep to him back there. The arm path is extremely short, throws right from his ear. The arm was clocked at 68 mph, from the chute throws were on the bag, pop time of 2.2-2.3, will drop with increase of arm strength. Offensively, hits from the right side. The stance is even at shoulder height, sits in a small crouch position. The hands are held above the shoulder, back elbow is extended out. For timing uses a small leg kick, hands have some coil to it. The body has some movement moving forward, hands at times drop just so slightly. The swing path is level once it's going, finishes with two hands just above the shoulders. The approach was more to the middle of the field. Off the mound, has a controlled repeatable delivery. The hands start high and stay high, leg raise is high gets to a good gather with some coil to it. The arm path has some length to it, works out of a ¾ slot, is clean on the backside. The direction is inline, gets squared up on release, he pounded the zone with all three pitches. The front side glove is inline, could stay slightly stronger throughout, could help with velocity. The fastball was located to both sides, 4 seamer had tight rotation and created sink with 2 seamer, clocked 69-71 mph. The breaking ball was clocked at 56-57 mph, side spin at times. The change up clocked at 57-58, slows down just a tick on it. Times to the plate were at 1.7-1.8. Projects for me behind the plate, shows solid catching and throwing skills.
