Richard Hayes: LHP/1B, (2025) Walpole, MA. 6-foot-2, 183-pound athletic projectable build. Projectable and athletic in the box, Hayes recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Started in a balanced wide stance with a wrapping load, then used a small stride. Bat speed is developing, has a loose flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Projectable and capable on the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action with developing arm speed. Stretch only type pitcher and showed some effort. Displays in line shoulders with a consistent balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-76 mph; had control arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1702; Avg 1473). Showed glove side control and sweeping action on his curveball (61-62). He has a straight changeup (66-68).
