From the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 77 mph; had a clean exchange, consistent footwork, and sure hands. Used a ¾ slot with a long arm action. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.03. On the mound, had a high ¾ arm angle with long arm action. Consistent balance point. Lands square with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 76-77 mph. Defense:  (OF) Sure hands, consistent footwork, clean exchange.  

Arm: 77 mph outfield velocity. Long arm action, ¾ slot. 

Speed: 7.03 (60-yard).

Pitching: High ¾ arm angle, long arm action. Consistent balance point, lands square, a clean finish.

FB: T77. 76-77 mph. (Max spin 1771;  Avg 1492). Running action. 

CB: 63-64 mph. Sweeping action. 

CH: Fading action. 

Mason has a projectable frame at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds.  The right-handed hitting infielder had a tee exit velocity of 74 mph.  The stance is balanced, with the hands in a good position. The load begins with a big leg kick.  The hands push back into a strong position before heading into the hitting zone. The bat-path is direct to and through contact and produced consistent line drives during the event.

Defensively, the feet get the body into a solid fielding position.  He is balanced, with the glove out in front. He transitions well through the ground ball and gets into a good throwing position.  The arm-swing is clean and had a velocity of 66 mph across the diamond, during the event.

On the mound, Mason uses simple, deliberate mechanics to get into the balance position.  The hands separate nicely before heading down the mound in line with home plate. The arm slot is out of a lower ¾ angle, creating some run on the fastball that sat 65-67 mph.  The breaking pitch was a big sweeping pitch at 58-59 mph. He also showed the feel for a change-up at 62-66 mph.

Mason is an interesting prospect.  The frame projects and the skill-set demonstrate good fundamentals.
