Tanner is a good looking young, right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a balanced, wide stance. The hands are set just off the back shoulder. The bat takes a slightly uphill path and showed the ability to use the middle of the diamond during his round. Defensively, he moves well in the infield. The feet are clean and the hands are soft. He gets into a good fielding position and moves through the ball well. He stays in line as he works through the play and uses a clean arm swing as he works the ball across the diamond. He also had a vertical of 40.7 cm. On the mound, Tanner worked primarily out of the stretch throwing from a low submarine arm slot. While throwing from this angle, Tanner is able to keep his shoulder and head in line as he works down the mound. His good direction creates deception and heavy sink on a fastball that sits (66-67 MPH). Tanner also showed a big, sweeping breaking ball.
