James Cropp: RHP/OF, (2026) Wellesley High School, MA. 6-foot, 175-pound projectable athletic frame. Projectable during batting practice, the hitter had an exit velocity of 87 mph. (69.3 mph bat speed average). (18.8 mph hand speed average). Started in a narrow open stance with a controlled load, then used a closed small stride. Bat speed is developing, shows a loose simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. In the round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 83 mph; shows developing consistent feet, developing soft hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing athletically. Showed a ¾ slot and a quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Projectable on the mound, showed developing consistent arm speed with low ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher and showed some effort. Displays in line shoulders with aconsistent balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 79-80 mph; has running sinking action and arm side command.
