11/11/18 - Committed to Louisiana-Lafayette out of NW Florida State
2020 DRAFT:The 6-foot-5, 195 pound lanky-bodied righty is a transfer from Northwest Florida State College. Angel works with a simple delivery. His arm is loose and whippy with a full arm swing to a low three-quarter slot. His fastball sits 91-94 mph with late sink and some arm side run, and he really knows how to use his 75-76 mph sweeping slurve. Angel finished the 2020 season 1-2, 3.74 ERA, 21.2 IP, 17 H, 10 BB, 26 SO, .221 OPPAVG.
10/31/18:The 6-foot-5, 195 pound right-hander has a long and lean frame. Working from the stretch only, the delivery is simple and the arm is loose and whippy. Still has upside and worked 92-94 mph with late life and some arm side run. Has a full arm swing and worked from a 3/4 slot. The slider has tilt and 78-79 mph and has the makings of an above average pitch. Overall, one of the high ceiling arms in attendance.
10/9/18:6-foot-4, 190-pound, lean, lanky right-handed pitcher. Works from the stretch-only, short arm action, show on the back-side with a low draw, low slot. Fastball sat 91-93 with life. Curveball, 10/4 shape, sweeping action, good feel for, 75-78.
