A two-way guy, shows serious power potential at the plate. A right-handed hitter, the stance is wide, even and balanced. The hands sit right at shoulder height, path is flat through the zone and stays through the ball well, with a one handed finish. The swing is simple, creates good leverage, power will come. The tee exit velocity is 81 and runs well for a catcher, was 4.41 down the line. Behind the dish, the setup is balanced and relaxed. Shows a quick transfer and feet, closes up well, made solid throws in the games. The arm action is short and quick. Times down to second were 1.97-2.07, the velocity was 73. Off the mound, the slot is high-¾, the fastball was 79-81, with some sink and run to it. The delivery, has some deception to it, throws across his body, ball gets on the right-handed hitter quick, it's a tough angle. The breaking pitch is a slurvy curveball, thrown at 65-66, needs to be thrown harder. The frame is large, body is durable and strong, once he fills out will have some serious strength. The future is bright, too early to tell which way he will go.
