Gabriel Lopez: 1B/RHP, (2025) Coventry High School, RI. 220-pound projectable solid build. Projectable during batting practice, Lopez displayed an exit velocity of 94 mph, Ranks #1 with EV at the event. Started in an open wide stance with a controlled load, then used a closed small stride. Bat speed is explosive, uses a flat loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. In the round he found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Projectable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 80 mph; has in control developing feet, a natural exchange, and developing hands. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Showed a high ¾ slot and consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 8.72 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, used a consistent short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing developing arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Displays in line shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands closed with recoil finish. Slider (67-68 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 79-80 mph; showed control arm side around the zone and running sinking action. (Max spin 1862; Avg 1779). His curveball (67-68) has glove side around the zone control and sweeping action. (Max spin 1868; Avg 1851). His changeup (73-74) had arm side control and gradual fading action.
