Jaxon Drennen: SS/RHP, (2025) Elkins, WV. 5-foot-10, 140-pound. Started in a tall balanced stance with a controlled wrapping load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was developing, displayed an uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Pull side approach. In the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 89 mph. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.22. Athletic fluid on the mound, using a short arm action he showed consistent quick arm speed from an over-the-top arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows high effort. Downhill shoulders with a consistent tall balance point. Lands square with an athletic recoil finish. (Max spin 2085; Avg 1954).
Offensively, Drennen starts in a athletic spread stance. Was able to make consistent contact and squared the ball. Does have tendency to drop his hands as pitch is being delivered, but was still able to find the barrel.
Defensively, Drennen displayed strong fielding and throwing ability. A 56 mph positional velocity was recorded across the infield.
On the mound, the primary pitcher displayed balanced mechanics with a FB that sat 57-59 mph along with a CB at 50-52 mph. Drennen also showed a KN, but had trouble consistently throwing it in the strikezone.
