PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
WIGHAM: Kansas University, Simpson College, Benedictine University, DMACC, Wayne State University, Mount Mercy University. These are what I know of at the moment. Some may come out once they see me when I am healthy but I can’t give much more information.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
WIGHAM: I have visited Benedictine, DMACC, Wayne State, Mount Mercy. I have been to Kansas University many times but not on a visit. A Simpson visit will be scheduled very soon as of now and once my arm gets in shape and I can throw normally again then more visits will definitely be in store with these College’s and others too.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
WIGHAM: Great-good Criminal Justice and Political Science programs. Not a large college, relatively close to my house (few hours at most) preferably, decent sized town, good community, good academic and is known for having good programs and Professors. I live in Urbandale Iowa as a point of reference. I want a college that will play me as a freshman and will truly work with me to become better for the team and for myself. Dedication but also being very wise and educated on the game of baseball and how it effects college and personal life.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
WIGHAM: I didn’t really play at all due to my Tommy John Surgery in March of 2019. I started to throw and hit about halfway through the season maybe a little further than that. Only was able to get around 20 varsity AB’s Junior year. Played JV to get arm, body, and swing back into shape and to get ready for Varsity. Much of my junior year was focused around physical therapy and getting my arm healthy enough to play ball again.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?
WIGHAM: Fully heal my elbow and be ready to pitch 100% by spring ball. Once this happens I want to expose myself to colleges that are interested in me and to others that haven’t seen me due to my injury. Then it’s just a recovery process and getting my strength up. My main goal is my recovery and health of my elbow once that is good then I can really work on pitching mechanics. I also want to get some strength in hitting left handed since I am a switch hitter. One major thing I need to work on is beefing up and putting on some muscle so that is what I am currently doing now and will continue to do so through my senior year.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
WIGHAM: I do not play any other sports besides baseball.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
WIGHAM: Currently ACT is a 24 and GPA is around a 3.9.
