Evaluation: 8/7/16- 6-foot-4, 240-pound right-handed pitcher. Extra large durable build. Physically imposing on mound. Slight back arch at balance point, solid direction to plate, swings front leg down mound, relatively clean arm action, high ¾ slot, throws with strength. Fastball shows avg./ok life, on slight downhill plane, at 84-88 mph. Varying shape on curveball, solid arm speed, at 72-74 mph with flashes of sharp break. Shows solid feel for breaking ball in/around zone.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
COWAN: I have received interest from all levels in baseball. I have also been hearing from D2 and D3 schools for football.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
COWAN: I have made a few visits and look forward to making some more this fall.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
COWAN: I would like to pursue a 4 year engineering degree.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
COWAN: I finally got it rolling and finished last month of my Junior season strong with a 1.25 ERA with 33.6 inning pitched, 26 hits, 27 strikeouts, and allowed 6 earned runs.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
COWAN: To find a school that I feel comfortable going to and that wants me to play baseball for them. Work as hard as I can in the off season to develop myself further as a pitcher.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
COWAN: Have been a competitive 3-sport athlete in football, baseball, basketball for past 10 years.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
COWAN: I have a 3.8 GPA and a 25 on the ACT.
