Kentucky Player of The Week: Beechwood 2023 OF Cameron Boyd
April 27, 2022
In a normal week, there were multiple nominations for this week’s Player of The Week award that would have been under strong consideration. This was not a normal week thanks to Beechwood 2023 OF Cameron Boyd.
In five games last week (April 18-24), Boyd put on an offensive show out of the leadoff spot in leading the No. 7 ranked Tigers to five wins, culminating with a three home run performance against Nicholas County that advanced Beechwood to the All-A State Classic at Eastern Kentucky University this coming weekend.
For the week, Boyd went 12-for-17 with two doubles, one triple, six home runs, nine RBIs, and 13 runs scored. To say he was a catalyst for the Beechwood offense might be the understatement of the season thus far.
For the season, the uncommitted OF is hitting .452 with seven doubles, two triples, and nine home runs. The nine home runs ties him for the second most in the state this season. Boyd is also a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen bases, and he averaged 21.2 points per game for the Beechwood basketball squad.
For his outstanding performance on the field, Beechwood 2023 OF Cameron Boyd had been selected as the PBR Kentucky Player of The Week for April 18-24.
