6-foot-1, 170-pound LHP only solidified his status as the top uncommitted LHP in the 2018 class. Loose and athletic arm works through a high-3/4 slot with minimal effort, locates fastball down in the zone with occasional slight arm-side life, throws a hard curveball with late break and compliments it with good feel for a slightly harder slider, throws a splitter as a changeup with good arm speed and deception that has some tumbling action late in the zone, impressed with his command of all pitches. Rom’s velocity continues to climb with the likelihood of touching 90 mph on the horizon.
