PBR: Why did you choose USAFA?
I have wanted to attend the Academy since I was about 10 years old after touring with my family. I knew that I wanted to play baseball and serve and this is a place I could do both.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Oregon State and Wichita State
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
I first met Coach C.J. Gillman at Bardo's College Prospect Showcase in Parker, CO my Freshman year. I worked in a small group with Coach Gillman at the camp. That summer after my Freshman year, I attended AFA Baseball Camp and was offered then.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
The Academy is more than just baseball; it is about getting a great education. I also really liked the entire coaching staff.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Coach Brooks Dodson (Warhawks Baseball out of Parker, CO) who coached me from age 7-12. We always competed at a high level and he expected a lot of us. He taught me the fundamentals and work ethic
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
I knew I wanted to play division 1 baseball. I knew that I needed to work hard and be in contact with coaches. The process was easy with the Air Force because they always answered my calls and built a strong relationship with me.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
The coaches have they said will give me every chance to compete my Freshman year, likely pitching, but maybe catching as well. I started off being recruited as a catcher, but I have turned into a pitcher.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Winning both Junior Legion and Senor Legion State my Freshman year.
