We would like to thank all who participated in PBR New England's Preseason College Prospect Showcase. This was a great opportunity for 2016, '17, '18, and '19 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories. 

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Alex Bejarano, OF/2B, Silver Lake, 2018

Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 140-pound utility prospect. In the outfield he tends to stop his feet fielding the ball instead of utilizing a run through. From a high-¾ slot he showed 66 mph velocity. In the field he needs to create more rhythm approaching the ball with 63 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open and uses a big leg kick to load and get back to even. Hands start away from his body and his swing is a little mechanical with an slightly uphill swing. Registered top exit velocity of 73 mph and ran 8.0-60.

David Meech, OF/LHP, Douglas, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 165 pounds with a thin frame. The southpaw throws through a high-¾ slot with short arm action while displaying some effort in delivery. Consistently pounded the zone with his 73-75 mph fastball. Offspeed pitches still need some developing. 60-62 mph curveball features gradual 12/6 action. Arm speed tends to slow with his 65-66 mph changeup that features fading action at times. From the outfield he doesn’t use a crow hope and tends to open up on his throw. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 73 mph arm strength.

Jack Steele, SS/RHP, Worcester Academy, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 165 pounds with an average frame. The right hander throws through a near low ¾ slot with short arm action. Arm slot generates some arm-side run with his 74-75 mph fastball. The 62-64 mph breaking ball features gradual breaking slurvy like action. Also mixed in a 68-70 mph changeup that will become more effective as he gains consistent command. From the infield he shows soft hands and fields the ball into his body. Throw from an easy, low-¾ slot with 70 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and stay slightly open. Tends to be a little stiff on front leg with a swing that gets in and out of the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran 7.87-60.

Nick Murray, RHP, St. Marks, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-5, 195-pound tall, projectable frame. On the mound the right-hander has a slow tempo, compact delivery with a short stride. Showed good feel of his pitches especially for his age. From a short, high-¾ slot his fastball was solid for his age at 76-78 mph with some sink. His breaking ball had tight spin and late 11/5 tilt at 69-70 mph. He threw his changeup near fastball speed at 71-74 mph with occasional sink.

Rich Joseph, OF/1B, St. Johns, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 150-pound average build. From the outfield he tends to take too many steps and needs to use a run through to create momentum. From a high-¾ slot he shows 70 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter that starts slightly closed. Doesn’t stride and dives into his swing. Path is flat and uses the opposite field with 68 mph exit velocity. Ran 8.15-60.

Travis Lane, RHP/1B, Phillips Andover Academy, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 200-pound strong, athletic build. On the mound has slow tempo delivery with minimal effort and good direction at foot strike. Shows an easy arm swing from over top with his fastball sitting 78-81 mph with occasional arm-side run. His breaking ball with gradual 11/5 break sat 67-69 mph. Showcased a changeup with good arm speed at 69-71 mph with arm-side run. Over at first base he shows good footwork around the bag. Clean exchange with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that is balanced and uses a good load. Shows flat path that stay in the hitting zone with some ease to it and 82 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.95-60.

Aaron Zabawski, SS/2B, Windham, 2019

Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 140-pound projectable frame. From the infield he tends to wait back on his heels. Shows a clean exchange especially for his age. Able to throw from different arm angles with 65 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and doesn’t quite get to even. Does a good job keeping his weight back with a flat path and a high finish. Registered top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran 7.86-60

Maximilian Mandel, RHP/OF, Catholic Memorial, 2019
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 155-pound athletic build. On the mound he showed minimal effort in his delivery with good direction. From over the top his fastball sat 70-72 mph with good down angle and command. Showed a breaking ball with gradual break at 61-62 mph. His changeup had good arm speed at 66-67 mph with arm-side run and sink.
