Game of the Day: Parkersburg South at George Washington

The George Washington Patriots (10-1) began the year at No. 5 in the Preseason PBR Elite Eight Class AAA rankings and moved to No. 4 following a 6-0 start to their season in the most recent update. Saturday saw the Patriots continue their winning ways with a 5-4 home win against Parkersburg South.
George Washinton broke open a scoreless game in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Garrett Vogelbach doubled with one out. Following a fly out, the Patriots strung together four hits and a Parkersburg South error to plate four runs. Connor Moffatt (left) doubled to drive in Vogelbach with the first run, and preceding singles by Jeff Wong (right), Michael Susman and Evan Gibson to add to the lead.
Vogelbach got things going again for the Patriots in the 4th after Parkersburg South cut the lead in half in the top of the inning. The senior reached on an error, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single by Josh Petit.
Parkersburg South answered back with two runs in the top of the 5th to cut the lead to 5-4 and loaded the bases with two outs in the 7th before Cole Myers (1-0, 1 save) was able to induce a ground out to earn the save in relief of starter Evan Gibson (2-0).
