Moorefield, ranked No. 3 in the PBR West Virginia Class A Elite Eight rankings, continued their wining ways with a tidy 3-0 win over Martinsburg last night to move to 10-4 on the season. Senior righty Austin Williams tossed a complete game shutout allowing just four hits while striking out nine.
The Yellowjackets plated three runs in the first three innings and rode Williams arm the rest of the way. Wil Schoonover (2-for-4, 2 runs), Blake Conrad (2-for-4, RBI) and Holden Sions (2-for-3, right) led the Moorefield offensive attack.
Schoonover actually saw his team leading average (.525) drop in spite of his two-hit evening. The junior also leads the Yellowjackets with 19 RBI and 17 runs scored.
