Welcome to West Virginia open id showcase
- Note: Stories are in their original form from when they were written. This story ran on July 15, one day prior the 1st event in the history of PBR West Virginia. Eight prospects that attended have gone on to announce college commitments.

The first ever Prep Baseball Report event to be held in West Virginia, the most recent state to be added to the PBR coverage area, will take place July 16 at Alderson-Broaddus University. While the roster for the WV Open ID Showcase will not be complete until registrations close on July 14 a look at the current roster should excite those coaches planning to attend.

Shane E.A number of highly regarded and heavily recruited prospects from West Virginia and Pennsylvania dot the roster of players scheduled to attend. RHP/OF Shane Ennis, ranked No. 1 in the WV Class of 2014, will showcase his two-way abilities and his upper 80's fastball. 2B/RHP Devon Walker, the PBR Player of the Year in Pennsylvania's District 6, has also received considerable attention in the recruiting world since his award winning high school season and solid performance at the PA Top Prospect Games. 3B/RHP Jamie Switalski, Pine Richland HS, will also make the trip from Pennsylvania. The No. 38 ranked prospect in the PA Class of 2014 carries a big stick and has received multiple scholarship offers.

Two prospects potentially less known that have a chance to shine are RHP/SS Justin Vardian and 3B/SS David Delawder. Vardian, ranked No. 112 in the PA Class of 2014, went 6-1 with a save for Bishop McCort HS (PA) this spring. Delawder, ranked No. 6 in the WV Class of 2015, hit .407 and scored 41 runs out of the leadoff spot for Hampshire HS in 2013.
