Another athletic RHP out of St. Joseph’s is true 2024/reclassed 2025 Luke Schmitt. He has a quick arm out of a low ¾ slot that adds plenty of arm side run to his sinker, which sat in the 82-83 mph range and had over 13 inches of horizontal break. He does well killing spin and movement on the changeup making it an effective offering when used with the fastball. He has two breaking balls, the slider with over 12 inches of horizontal break (HB), and a curveball with similar HB but with more depth, 8 inches of induced vertical break. Schmitt will be looking to make an immediate impact when his summer season kicks off.
