Baker burst onto the scene this summer and has become one of the top uncommitted 2024 bats in the country, and this continued in Regina at Canada Cup. He started the tournament with multiple extra base hits in the first two games, including a deep home run over the RCF wall. He then got on the mound and picked up 8 strikeouts over 5 innings against a very talented Quebec team. Touched 85 mph and generated lots of swing & miss with the curveball. Baker continues to hit wherever he goes ang shouldn't be uncommitted for long.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Webber Academy product had one of the better overall days at the Summer Open. It started with the 60-yard dash putting up an impressive time of 6.78. On the mound, he sat 83-84 topping out at 85 mph. Out of an over-the-top arm slot, he generates a high release point and a steep VAA, making it difficult on hitters to get the ball in the air. At the dish, where he excelled with the Canadian JNT this past summer, he showed us why he is one of the more mature hitters in the 2024 class in the country. His physical frame allows him to produce an aggressive but controlled approach generating loud contact throughout his entire round. Finishing off with the best exit velocity on the day of 92 mph. He also got up to 91 mph from the OF, the highest of the event. Baker is a must follow as his hit/power tool continues to develop.
