Big and strong at 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, Botticelli took loud swings form the left side. Reaching a peak velocity of 103.4. High-waisted, he stands tall in the box and creates good plane with his size. It'll be interesting to see how the strength translates to gameplay, but this was one of the better overall performances.
The 2025 OF/1B had one of the better rounds of BP at the Evolution Baseball Scout Day. At 6-foot-3, 170-pounds there’s plenty of room in his projectable frame to add strength. With a relaxed slide-step to get on time, he generates plenty of torque while maintaining controlled aggression. He primarily elevated back up the middle and to his backside gap, reaching a top exit velocity of 95 mph. Botticelli will be a player to follow this summer to see if that left handed swing translates to in-game success.
