The Dawgs are an arm farm, rolling out yet another quality arm on the mound. Standing 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, 2025 right-hander Ryler Straarup had a strong day. While his arm action can use some tinkering in the back, he was still able to live 86-87 mph, up to 88. His slider is still developing, but he dropped in a few tight ones at 68-69 mph while also flashing feel for a fadey changeup at 77-78 mph. An uncommitted senior, Straarup should be a nice pickup for colleges this upcoming Fall.

One of the best bullpens of the day came from 2025 two-way Ryler Straarup. With a 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame, Straarup uses his physicality on both sides of the ball. The fastball topped at 82 mph, sitting in the 80-81 mph range. He offers two breaking balls, the curveball has slightly more depth at 66-67 mph, while the slider has more horizontal break at 67-69 mph. At the dish, he elevated back up the middle and to his opposite field gap, reaching a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Despite his present physical frame, there’s still room to add strength and take that next step in his development.
