The Calgary Cubs product made a name for himself during the Calgary Summer ID. At 6-foot-6, 175-pounds there’s plenty of projection in Bavis’ frame. Out of a high-¾ slot, he creates a steep vertical approach angle on his fastball making it tough on hitters to elevate when located down in the zone. The fastball sat 81-83 mph with some arm-side-run on it as well. The splitter is just as effective, with just 1 inch of vertical break creating deception out of the same arm slot as his fastball. The slider is still a work in progress, but has the profile to be an effective offering in the near future.
