2/13/25

The biggest surprise on Dawgs Scout Day was 2026 Tyson Kajmowicz. Standing a long 6-foot-6, 195-pounds, the right-hander is still developing but showed lots of promise. While his fastball command was sporadic, he lived 89-92 mph, topping out at 93 mph with max effort. His slider spins in the mid-70s, but it's still on its way. He's got potential feel for a changeup as well, throwing is firm in the low 80s. Overall it was a good look at Kajmowicz, who made a strong impression on our staff. Good follow in the 2026 class.

5/14/24
Kajmowicz has seen some major improvements since we last saw him in February at the Preseason ID. The fastball is now up to 84 mph, sitting 82 to 83 mph, compared to a max fastball velocity of 81 mph in February. His spin rate has also seen a jump, as it is now north of 2300 rpm. At 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, there’s plenty of room to add strength so it won’t be surprising to see him take another step forward as he heads into his summer season with the Calgary Blues.
2/20/24

The 2026 out of the Calgary Blues program is an intriguing arm to keep an eye on at the event. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound RHP oozes projection. He creates extension, getting down the mound well and has a quick arm to release out of a ¾ slot. The repertoire includes a fastball, slider and changeup, with the slider profiling as a swing & miss option with 2-plane break. Having Kajmowicz throw at the event in Red Deer will be something to watch for as we’ll learn more about his ability to spin and manipulate the ball via Trackman.

2/02/24

Kajmowicz is an intriguing 2026 that caught our eye when we visited the Calgary Blues facility. The long limbs and stature, 6-foot-4 175-pounds, immediately stood out. He utilizes his frame and extends down the mound well. The repertoire is still developing, led by a slider that has 2-plane break and profiles as a swing & miss offering when located down in the zone. The fastball has been up into the low 80s and pairs well with the slider. Kajmowicz will be playing up with the 18U Premier Blues this coming summer and will look to make an immediate impact.
