'22 RHP Eli Folds was tasked with keeping a potent Auburn lineup in check and the junior right-hander did just that during his 4 inning stint. Folds gave up 6 earned runs but he was the recipient of some bad luck on a few different occasions. Folds may not have had high strikeout numbers (3 Ks) but he did a nice job keeping hitters off balance and is a definite three pitch guy that shows supreme command and confidence to throw any pitch at any time. He consistently pitched backwards in the count and kept hitters from getting comfortable in the box. The junior showed a fastball in the 83-85 mph range and bumped 87 mph once but the pitch looked more firm due to his ability to flip a solid breaking ball in. The changeup is a huge weapon for him which showed advanced fade away from the numerous LH hitters in the Auburn lineup. Really like the makeup of this junior.
