10/23/15 - Logged 2.1 innings in a start for the Astros Scout Team/FTB Tucci. He allowed just three hits and struck out three while sitting 89-92 with his fastball. He showed good feel for a changeup with fading action. There is some tilt to his breaking ball, which went between 10/4 and 11/5 shape and sat 77-78.

4/5/19: 6-foot-2, 218 pound frame with a strong lower half. Good mound presence. Controlled balance point. High front-side after separation. High 3/4 slot, fair extension due to rush and rotational finish, spinning out at times. Impressive raw arm strength. Fastball was heavy, sitting 95-97 mph in the first three innings. Easy effort, but started to use his arm more when he got tired. Had a tendency to rush delivery and fastball would cut in later innings. Ran into trouble when falling behind in the count and adding a couple baserunners, but did a good job of working around it. FB flattened out in the fifth, which allowed for hard hit balls in play. Velo dropped in the sixth to 88-92. Ran out of gas, but reared back on an 0-2 at 94mph. 2-seam had fair run armside; was 91-92 early on, but didn't throw it often. Relied heavily on his offspeed third time through the order. 12/6 curveball with good depth at 79-80. First few innings, spiked it and missed up and out to lefties. Improved feel for it as the game advanced. Tight slider at 85 mph looks to be his out pitch. Much more comfortable with SL than CB early in the game. Buried a few on purpose when ahead in the count. Changeup has the ability to be a strong pitch, as he gets more comfortable. Only threw it to LHH, deceptive sink at 81-83 mph. Looked like FB out of hand when he stayed on top. Uses it as a show pitch for now. Has feel, just doesn't throw it much. Didn't have any swing and misses on it. Overall, produced weak contact, but swing and miss stuff was not there this start. Command was there most of the outing. Ran into trouble but had good enough stuff to limit damage. Statline: 6IP, 5H, 2ER, 4BB, 3K (Colletta)
