Will Black: LHP/OF, (2021) Baptist Prep, AR. 5-foot-8, 147-pound projectable frame. Started in an active stance with a smooth tight load, then used a leg kick. Had a simple flat swing plane, average bat speed and low finish. Created a lot of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Up the middle approach. Projectable during batting practice, Black had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Smooth from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 83 mph; had soft hands, a quick exchange, and smooth consistent footwork. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball one hand. From an-over-the-top slot, showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action. Athletic on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a short arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-79 mph; showed deceiving action and consistent command with straight movement. Had a tight changeup (67-71) that showed running action and consistent control. His tight slider has tight action and glove side control.
