1/27/19 Uncommitted 6’3, 175-pound catcher showed noticeable improvements in his numbers from December. Creates a lot of backspin through the middle of the field, created by downward swing. Swing plane may cause issues down the road as he faces pitches down in the zone and off-speed pitches with more downward angle. Catcher velo at 73 MPH and pop times of 2.2-2.34. Solid footwork on throws to second.
12/27/18 – 6-3, 175 pounds. Projectible frame with plenty of room to add strength. Direct to the baseball, creating backspin. Good hand eye coordination squaring baseballs up with bat plane. As strength comes, arm strength at 68 MPH will catch up to his good feet behind the plate.
