1/27/19 Uncommitted 5’9 140 pound frame. Starts slightly closed in his set up with minimal movement. Uses lower half well, consistently squaring up balls hard to his pull side. Exit velo at 86 MPH. From the outfield throws from a low ¾ angle which takes away some of his carry at 83 MPH. On the mound Baker worked 79-82 with his fastball and 62-66 on the breaking ball. Uses lower half well, working into blocked lead leg. Used arm side of the plate well, using fading fastball and back door breaking balls to his advantage, making both look like similar pitches out of his hand.
6/6/18 - 5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Body projects to add size and strength. Offensively Baker hit from a balanced, athletic stance. Low hand set up. Hands work directly to the baseball, compact swing, high one handed finish; 81 mph exit velocity. Has shown knack for finding barrel in game action, doubles power. Defensively Baker profiles best as a corner outfielder. Looked comfortable moving to balls. Used a step behind crow hop and a ¾ arm slot from the left side to generate a 77 mph outfield velocity. Also posted a 7.45 60-yard dash.
5/20/18 - 5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Hit tool stands out; 81 mph exit velocity. Shows advanced feel for the barrel with loose rhythm and slight uphill path with some bat speed. Finding defensive home will be key to future as feet fit better at first base, but body is more suited to the outfield. 7.43 60-yard dash. Moves comfortably in the outfield, throwing 80 mph from ¾ slot with short, quick arm action.
