1/27/19 – 5’11, 165-pound frame. Numbers made a big jump, as body continues to get stronger. Starts tall with a narrow base, working into a leg kick or toe tap as he works forward. If he can keep intent high on his swing with a toe tap, having the two strides will benefit him to keep him on time. Barrel works into the zone early, allowing him to match pitch plane for a long period of time. Exit velo was up to 90 MPH. Moves well laterally to help create good angles to 1st. As timing of footwork improves, he will be able to gather himself before fielding the baseball, rather than using two shuffles. Velo across the diamond was 84 MPH.
10/14/18 - 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame. Broad shoulders, additional weight and more power coming soon. Starts from a tall set-up and gets into front side with a big leg kick. Deviates the hands and swings with intent (84mph exit velocity). Uphill bat path, but made constant solid contact. Defensively, feet and hands work well. Arm action is clean but velocity (74mph) takes a hit when he stands straight up prior to delivering the baseball across the diamond. Ran solid 7.06 60-yard dash.
