3/8/18 - Came on in relief for Mesquite and worked in the upper 80's with good life on his fastball that he was able to get by hitters. Working from a high 3/4 arm slot with some effort, Watson really competed and showed he could be an immediate contributor in the Pac-12. What really stands out are his two advanced secondary offerings that rate as the best for any 2018 AZ arm outside of Liberatore. His tight 76 mph curveball has late 11/5 break with depth and grades out as a present 50. The upper 70's tumbling changeup he showed is also a weapon due to the arm speed with which he throws it.
