6’ 180-pound frame. Starts with a slightly open stance, striding to square. Uses a small leg lift while rocking into back side to load. Good rhythm throughout swing, syncing upper and lower half well. Uses side bend well, to work on plane early to hit the ball in the air. Barrel gets into good position point back down towards catcher, to create early bat speed. Good transfer behind the plate with 77 MPH arm strength from the crouch. Works around baseball well, can start footwork earlier if needed.
1/27/19 Uncommitted 6’ 180 catcher showed adjustability in swing through his front leg, allowed for more time before starting his upper half. Aggressive pull side approach will become more consistent as timing continues to work itself out. Short footwork behind the plate helps him get into good position to throws to second. As his transfer gets better, look for pop times to go down quickly, as there’s arm strength at 77 MPH
. 10/14/18 - 6-foot-0, 170-pound frame. Offensive-minded catcher. Already displays strong forearms and wrists. Wide, quiet setup in the box. Rocks back to load with big, late barrel tip. Shows some strength in swing; 85 mph exit velo. DiCarlo showed solid accuracy when throwing behind the plate with 74 mph arm strength from the crouch. Pop times suffer from inconsistent footwork (2.06-2.20). Posted 7.43 60-yard dash.
